FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Libertarian Party of Delta County (LPDCo) is pleased to announce the candidacy of Gary Johnson for Delta County Commissioner, district 1.
Gary Johnson is a building contractor and also does tree service work in Delta County.
Mr. Johnson decided to run for county commissioner when he realized that sitting on the couch frustrated at politicians was netting zero effect. It was time to step up to the plate and get involved. “I left the Republican Party because the Republican Party no longer existed. The major parties have blended together, and both have abandoned any principles they may have ever had in favor of creating expensive ‘legacies’ and spending our money as fast as they can on their ‘community visions’. I am running for county commissioner because I want to return political principles to Delta County instead of these ‘legacies and visions’. I know that we have regulations that conflict with state law, and the current county commissioners don’t want to repair that problem. I am not going to promise you favors paid for by your neighbors, but I will promise you the freedom to build your own vision in your own corner of the world. So long as that vision doesn’t infringe on the rights of others, you shouldn’t be harassed by government entities. The basic job of county commissioner is roads and bridges, and balancing the county budget. Not micro-managing your life.”
Mr. Johnson looks forward to the upcoming campaign and debates with his district 1 opponents.

Here are 3 great ballot initiatives Libertarians statewide are supporting. Please take the time to look at all 3 and then contact Debbie Schum at 970-234-8056 or chair@lpdco.org to sign, or better yet, to help circulate petitions anywhere in the state of Colorado. Remember, if someone wouldn’t have taken the time to draw up these initiatives, and if someone else wouldn’t have taken the time to circulate the petitions, you wouldn’t be able to sign them. Please consider committing to gathering 100 signatures to get these take-back-our-government initiatives on the ballot.
